Workshop 14
with Bev Gelfand
: Marble has long been used in decorating to show the wealth and taste of the owner - think of all the marble in churches, banks, and swanky hotels. Fortunately, you don't need to be rich to have marble in your dollshouse - all you need is to know the basic techniques, some practice, a selection of paints and brushes, and a plain surface. You can also use this technique to spruce up a tired old console table top, dresser top, teacart, architectural columns - your imagination is your only limit!
Students will learn to replicate a grey veined faux Carrara marble. A hand poured resin fireplace mantel will be provided to each student as part of the class fee, and paints and tools will be available to borrow for use during class.
Tools to bring: Super fine detail brushes, magnifying glasses and small portable lights
